What this covers
This notice describes what TrashDens collects when you reserve and use a Den, why, how long it is kept, and who else it reaches. It covers trashdens.com and the reservation thread you are given after booking.
It does not cover anything you send us outside the product, such as a direct social media message.
What we collect
To place a reservation: your name, email address, phone number, the delivery address and the ZIP code, your placement notes, the delivery and pickup window you choose, your disposal selection, and the reason for the rental.
At check-in, before a Den is delivered: a photograph of the front and back of your driver's licence, a selfie taken at that moment, your typed or drawn signature, and your legal name as you sign it.
During the rental: four photographs of the Den and its placement before use, four after use, and anything you write or attach in your reservation thread.
If you invite a co-organizer, you give us that person's name and email address so they can be sent their own link.
If you apply to drive for us, we collect the name, phone, email, ZIP, experience, and availability you enter on that form.
Why we collect it
To deliver a Den to the right place at the right time, and to reach you if something about the delivery needs sorting out.
To confirm that the person renting a trailer is who they say they are, before we leave equipment on their property.
To settle the refundable deposit fairly. The before-use and after-use photographs are the record both sides are held to if there is a disagreement about damage.
To meet our obligations under the rental agreement you sign.
How long we keep it
Your driver's licence images and your identity selfie are scheduled for deletion 30 days after your rental ends.
A drawn signature image is scheduled for deletion 365 days after your rental ends. A signature you typed instead is stored as text and is kept with the signed agreement.
Condition photographs and files you attach to your reservation thread are scheduled for deletion 180 days after your rental ends.
Deletion runs when the product is next in use rather than at a fixed hour, so a file may sit slightly past its date before it is removed.
When a file is deleted, a record that it existed remains: its type, its original file name, its size, and a fingerprint of its contents. The image itself is gone.
Your reservation record, your messages, your receipt and your signed agreement are kept indefinitely so that both of us can refer back to what was agreed. We are working on a defined retention period for these.
Who sees it
Inside TrashDens, the owner can see everything on a reservation. A driver can see the reservations they are assigned to, including your identity documents for those bookings only, because verifying the person in front of them is part of the job. A driver assigned to a different route cannot open your documents.
Your co-organizer, if you add one, can read and post in your reservation thread and see files attached to it. They can never see your identity documents or your signature.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Companies that process data for us
MongoDB Atlas stores the database and the uploaded files.
Resend sends the transactional email about your reservation, which means it handles your email address and the contents of those messages.
Helcim handles card payments. Card details are entered into Helcim's own payment window and are never stored on our systems; we receive a confirmation and a masked card number.
Google's Places service powers address autocomplete. As you type an address, what you have typed so far is sent to Google to return suggestions.
Vercel hosts the site and processes the network requests that reach it.
Cookies and tracking
There is no advertising pixel, no analytics tag, and no third-party tracker anywhere on this site.
The only cookie we set is the sign-in session for the owner and driver console. It is strictly necessary, and a customer booking a Den is never given one.
We record a small number of our own events to understand how the booking flow performs: that an availability check started, that a checkout started, that a booking completed, and that an extension was requested. Each event stores only the reservation it belongs to and the ZIP code.
Your IP address is used to rate-limit abusive traffic and is not linked to your reservation.
Your choices
Email hello@trashdens.com to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will tell you honestly what we can and cannot remove, and how long it will take.
We may need to keep some records after a deletion request where we have a legal reason to, such as an unresolved payment dispute or a damage claim.
Transactional email about a reservation you have placed is not marketing and cannot be unsubscribed from while that reservation is live.
Children
This service is for adults. You must be old enough to enter a rental contract in Georgia, and you must hold a valid driver's licence to complete check-in.
